Doctor of Medicine | Emergency Medicine Location: Independence, MO Employer: Rhino Medical Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Contract Duration: 3 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Independence, Missouri Emergency Medicine Physician Locum Tenens Opportunity Rhino Medical is seeking Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physicians for an ongoing locum tenens assignment supporting a Level II trauma center in Independence, MO. This role focuses on managing a diverse and high-volume ER caseload, including trauma (mainly blunt), neuro IR procedures, pediatric cases, and plastics/hand transfers, at a busy regional facility. For Emergency Physicians seeking a demanding yet rewarding practice environment with flexible shift options, comprehensive support, and exposure to varied trauma cases, this opportunity offers a prominent placement supporting both the main hospital and affiliated FSERs. Opportunity Highlights Location: Independence, Missouri Emergency Medicine Physician Locum Tenens Ongoing coverage opportunity Level II trauma center Approximate patient census: 170 Shift times: 6:00–16:00, 9:00–19:00, 12:00–22:00, 15:00–01:00, 19:00–05:00, 21:00–07:00 Shifts at main hospital may be less than 12 hours; FSER shifts require 12 hours Flexibility required for days, nights, weekends Support staff includes neuro IR, Peds, plastics/hand transfer, psychiatric, and neurology robots ER annual admissions approximately 24% increase Practice Environment This busy Level II trauma center manages a broad spectrum of trauma and emergency cases, supported by advanced clinical resources and specialized support teams. Providers will work across multiple locations, handling high-acuity cases in a fast-paced setting with modern documentation tools. Requirements Active Missouri medical license DEA Registration Board Certified in Emergency Medicine Certifications: ATLS (per career), ACLS, PALS Experience in trauma, neuro IR, Peds, and plastics/hand transfer Flexibility for shift times and multiple work locations About Independence, Missouri Situated just outside Kansas City, Independence offers a rich history, vibrant community, and access to urban amenities.
