This opportunity involves providing clinical care in emergency departments or acute care settings, utilizing recent extensive experience in emergency or acute care environments. Providers will work within a well-supported clinical environment, managing a broad range of emergency presentations supported by modern documentation tools and general acute care resources. This role emphasizes recent clinical experience, relevant certifications, and supervisory capacity for nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Clinical Responsibilities Evaluation, stabilization, and management of emergency and acute care patients Management of medical, surgical, and traumatic presentations within scope Documentation within electronic medical records Supervision or backup support for nurse practitioners and physician assistants Collaboration with inpatient teams and specialty services as needed Candidate Requirements MD degree from an accredited institution Active, unrestricted Mississippi medical license DEA registration Completion of 3-year residency in emergency medicine, family medicine, or internal medicine Over 2000 contact hours in emergency or acute care environments within the past 2 years Board certification or eligibility in EM, FM, or IM ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications if not EM-certified or EM-trained Ability to supervise or backup physicians for nurse practitioners and physician assistants About Meridian, Mississippi Located in eastern Mississippi, Meridian offers a vibrant community with rich cultural history, outdoor recreation, and convenient access to regional amenities.
