Doctor of Medicine | Emergency Medicine Location: Mount Gilead, OH Employer: Rhino Medical Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Contract Duration: 2 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Mount Gilead, Ohio Emergency Medicine Physician Locum Tenens Opportunity January Start | 12-Hour Shifts | 10–12 Shifts/Month | ~9,600 Annual ED Visits | Epic Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Emergency Medicine physicians for a long-term locum tenens opportunity in Mount Gilead, Ohio , beginning in January 2027 . For physicians who prefer a lower-volume community ED with predictable 12-hour shifts , this assignment deserves a closer look. The department sees approximately 9,571 annual visits , averages 1.2 patients per hour , and offers both day and night coverage in a 10-bed ED . The commitment is substantial enough to provide scheduling consistency— 10–12 shifts per month for 6 months —without the pace of a high-volume urban emergency department. At approximately 1.2 patients per hour , the clinical proposition is markedly different from a high-volume metropolitan department. Physicians still need to be comfortable independently managing emergency presentations and determining appropriate admission, discharge or transfer, but within a smaller community-hospital setting. Who Can Qualify? The facility offers a broader pathway than an ABEM-only opportunity and will consider physicians trained in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with appropriate Emergency Medicine experience. Accepted board certifications include: ABEM / AOBEM ABFM ABIM / AOBIM Board-eligible physicians within 5 years of eligibility may also be considered 1–3 years of Emergency Medicine experience Life Support Requirements AHA ACLS required for all physicians Physicians who are not board certified in Emergency Medicine must also maintain AHA PALS and ATLS Why This Assignment Stands Out The combination is what makes this opportunity compelling: 12-hour shifts, approximately 1.2 patients per hour, 10–12 shifts per month, Epic, and a defined long-term need beginning in January.
