Doctor of Medicine | Emergency Medicine Location: Pennington Gap, VA Employer: Rhino Medical Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Contract Duration: 2 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Pennington Gap, Virginia Emergency Medicine Physician Locum Tenens Opportunity Emergency Department Coverage • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine • Supervision of NP/PA Providers Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking a Virginia-licensed Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in Pennington Gap, Virginia. This hospital-based Emergency Department role provides full-spectrum emergency care with board-certified or board-eligible clinical credentials and includes supervision of nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Opportunity Details Location: Pennington Gap, Virginia Assignment Type: Locum Tenens Coverage: Ongoing Setting: Hospital Emergency Department Patient Volume: Approximately 12,000 encounters annually Coverage Model: 12-hour shifts with mid-level coverage Clinical Scope Emergency Department evaluation, stabilization, treatment, and disposition Acute medical and traumatic patient management Procedural emergency care as required by the Emergency Department Admissions, transfers, and discharge coordination Documentation and order entry using Epic EMR Supervision of nurse practitioners and physician assistants Schedule Details 12-hour shifts (mid-level coverage also provided) Practice Environment Hospital Emergency Department setting Epic EMR used for clinical documentation and order entry Requirements Active, unrestricted Virginia medical license DEA registration Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine Graduate of an accredited MD or DO medical school Completion of an approved 3-year residency program in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine ACLS, ATLS, and PALS (or NRP if applicable for non-EM certified providers) Ability to supervise nurse practitioners and physician assistants Recent or ongoing Emergency Medicine experience (new graduates may be considered with a 3-month proctorship) Why Physicians Move on This Work in a structured Emergency Department setting with established mid-level coverage Supervise NP/PA providers while delivering full-spectrum emergency care Ongoing locum tenens coverage with a defined annual encounter volume Why Providers Choose Rhino Medical Weekly direct deposit Triple A-rated malpractice coverage Concierge recruiter communication Transparent process from presentation through placement Long-term relationship focus Apply with your updated CV to secure upcoming coverage dates.
