This dual-site opportunity offers cross-credentialing at both emergency departments within the same health system, providing schedule flexibility, strong specialty backup, and state-of-the-art emergency medicine facilities designed for efficient, patient-centered care. Assignment Overview Location: Rhode Island (cross-credentialed between two facilities) Contract Type: Locum Tenens Start Date: January 2026 Duration: Long-term (6 months, ongoing) Credentialing: Temporary privileges available for clean files Schedule: Full-time or part-time availability | Day, swing, and night shifts available Shift Options: 7a–3p | 2p–11p | 3p–11p | 9p–7a | 11p–7a Flexible 10–12 hour shifts available for locums Facility & Program Details Facility A Annual Volume: 31,999 visits Beds: 100 total | 23 ED beds Acuity: Medium Admission Rate: 19% Fast Track: Yes APC Coverage: 10a–8p and 11a–11p EMR: Meditech (v5.67) with Dragon Dictation Patient Volume: ~1.8 patients per hour Trauma Level: None Specialty Backup: Anesthesiology, Cardiology, ENT, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine, Nephrology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Pulmonology, Radiology, Rheumatology Program Highlights: Newly designed emergency department featuring 22 private rooms, isolation and bariatric bays, trauma suite, and modern equipment Behavioral Health & Substance Use Treatment Unit with 9 private rooms Dedicated geriatric-friendly care areas and oncology integration Facility B Annual Volume: 30,289 visits Beds: 135 total | 23 ED beds Acuity: High Admission Rate: 15% Fast Track: Yes Daily Physician Coverage: 7a–5p | 1p–11p | 9p–7a Daily APC Coverage: 10a–10p Patient Volume: ~1.8 patients per hour Trauma Level: None EMR: Meditech 5.67 with Dragon dictation Hospital Medicine Program: Yes Candidate Requirements Board Certification: ABEM or AOBEM (required) Licensure: Active and unrestricted Rhode Island medical license Certifications: ACLS required Additional Requirements: Completion of 8-hour stroke CME Two-part PPD test Experience: Minimum 2 years post-residency emergency medicine experience Why This Opportunity?
