Doctor of Medicine | Gastroenterology Location: Bellingham, WA Employer: Alumni Healthcare Staffing Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Contract Duration: 26 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Specialty State WA Location 2901 Squalicum Pkwy, Bellingham, WA, Requirements Client has 8hrs of Non-Billable hours for orientation hours Posted rate is for 12hrs of Clinic work 12hrs of Beeper night call At time of Offer please have provider's DOB SSN ready to submit as this is required to present to client within 24hrs of an offer. Expected duration of assignment: 6 months Reason for opening: Gap in coverage Type of privileges clinic/hospital/both: Both Setting: Inpatient Outpatient or Both? Both If Inpatient of beds: 253 Call requirement: Yes - 24-hour call/hospitalist shifts for weekday and weekend Rounding consults inpatient/outpatient GI procedures Rounding admissions or none? Both Patient demographics: Adult 18 Average patients per day: Clinic - 16 Outpatient Endoscopy Center 14-16 Hospital Census - varies Required Procedures: Gastroenterology procedures ERCP required Required clinical activity in the last 24 months case logs: Applicant must provide documentation of provision of gastroenterology services representative of the scope and complexity of the privileges requested during the previous 24 months waived for applicants who completed training during the previous year. AND If training to perform double balloon enteroscopy or capsule endoscopy occurred in the previous 2 years applicant must provide a description of supervised training on human subjects along with a letter from the supervising physician attesting to clinical competence as an independent operator. If training occurred greater than 2 years ago the applicant must provide documentation of ongoing clinical practice in each privilege requested. ERCP: Applicant must provide documentation of provision of clinical services representative of the scope and complexity of the privileges requested during the previous 24 months waived for applicants who completed training during the previous year. Maintenance for ERCP: At least 50 successful ERCP procedures in the past 2 years. If maintenance criteria is not met physician must be proctored for remaining cases by a physician currently holding this privilege. Will provider work solo? If not other providers specialties working with them: No other GI MD are part of the practice Licensed Candidate: Our preference is for Washington licensed candidates but we can accept IMLC Required certifications Must be from American Heart Association or American Red Cross as applicable: Board certified GI ACLS EMR: EPIC EMR experience preferred Provation GI software preferred PLEASE HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS ANSWERED AND ADDED TO YOUR TEMPLATE WHEN PRESENTING Here are the questions that I will have for every presentation. 1. Do they take 24-hour General GI call? 2. Will they see patients in the clinic setting? 3. Will they scope patients in an outpatient endoscopy center/ambulatory surgery center? a. Is nurse sedation/conscious sedation Fentanyl and Versed ok with them? b. Will they only scope if sedation is strictly MAC/anesthesia only? 4. Are they open to scoping patients in our outpatient hospital block that are not suitable for the endoscopy center? a. We need to fill our 3 outpatient hospital blocks weekly. This is filled by either the General GI who is also on call or by another MD who is not on call. If Advanced Endoscopist: 1. Do they perform ERCP? a. Will they take 24-hour backup ERCP call when they are here? i. Example: A different General GI MD is on-call at hospital but they call this MD if ERCP is needed to come in. ii. If the backup ERCP call MD is not in the hospital on General GI call I would have them in the endoscopy center or in the clinic. b. Will they take 24-hour General GI/ERCP call? 2. Do they perform EUS?
