Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,290 - $7,450 Specialty: Hematology and Oncology Position Type: Locum tenens physician opportunity Setting: Outpatient hematology and oncology practice within a community hospital environment Location: Martinsville, VA 24112 - Southside Virginia community with a relaxed pace, regional access, and nearby outdoor recreation Start Date: 9/28/2026 End Date: 9/24/2027 Duration: 52 weeks Shifts Per Week: 4 Shift Duration: 8-10 hours per day, depending on patient volume Call Coverage: Very light beeper call for established patients only; phone consults with a 1-hour response time Daily Patient Volume: 12-15 patients per day Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 60 days, with temp privileges possible Job Requirements Board certified or board eligible in Hematology and Oncology Fellowship training required Active Virginia medical license required ACLS required ABLS required BLS required At least 1 year of relevant hematology and oncology experience preferred Comfort working in an outpatient oncology setting with light call coverage Responsibilities Provide outpatient hematology and oncology care for an established patient population Manage a daily schedule of approximately 12-15 patients Participate in very light beeper call and handle phone consults as needed Collaborate with an experienced care team to support high-quality, patient-centered cancer care Document and coordinate care using the practice EMR system Deliver compassionate, efficient care in a busy but well-supported oncology practice Why This Locum Tenens Opportunity Outpatient-focused hematology and oncology practice Light call and manageable patient volume Established team and supportive community hospital environment Convenient Virginia location for drive-in candidates Longer-term assignment with strong continuity of care Apply now to explore this Hematology and Oncology physician job in Martinsville, Virginia, and join a healthcare team committed to excellent patient care.
