Doctor of Medicine | Hematology and Oncology Location: Abingdon, VA Employer: HPA Healthcare Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Contract Duration: 2 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Locum Tenens Hematology/Oncology Physician – Virginia HPA Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician for a full-time locum tenens assignment in Virginia. Assignment: 11/01/26–01/30/27 Length: 13 weeks Coverage: 24-hour call with daytime clinic Call Shift: 8:00 AM–8:00 AM Clinic: Approximately 8:30 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Friday Patient Volume: Approximately 15/day Patient Population: Adults EMR: Epic Provider Pay: $4,500 per 24-hour shift Callback: $700/hour when called back onsite after leaving campus for clinic day. Pay Ranking: Top 5–10% This position combines outpatient Hematology/Oncology clinic, inpatient consultation, telemedicine consultation, and 24-hour call coverage. The physician will work primarily at one location while providing additional coverage at sister facilities. The practice offers dedicated nursing support, infusion services, and access to Radiation Oncology. Clinical responsibilities encompass both Hematology and Oncology. Candidates must be Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology , maintain an active Virginia medical license , DEA and BLS, and have prior Epic experience . The facility will not provide Epic training.
