Doctor of Medicine | Hematology and Oncology Location: Martinsville, VA Employer: Adelphi Locums Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: 4 days x 10 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: L-MD-01750 Profession: Physician Specialty: Hematology & Oncology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Martinsville, VA Service Setting: Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Call Coverage Period: Sep 28, 2026 – Sep 24, 2027 Shift Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 8 – 10 hours per day On-Call Shift Schedule: Beeper call, phone consults only, 2 – 5 calls per week Call Type: Beeper Call Response Time: 1 hour Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered COVERAGE DATES Sep 08, 2026 – Oct 30, 2026 Nov 16, 2026 – Nov 22, 2026 PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Primarily adult patients Average Daily Volume: 12 – 15 patients per day Phone Consults: 2 – 5 per week (phone only) Case Mix: Medical Oncology, Hematology FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Aria Specialty Backup Available: 3 established permanent HemOnc providers Support Staff: RNs: 6, PA/NPs: 1, Office Staff: 6 PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes Credentialing Timeline: Estimated 60 days (fast-track possible) JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC or BE required Licenses: Licensed in VA Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ABLS Other Qualifications: Driving distance preferred Duties & Responsibilities Provide comprehensive outpatient medical oncology and hematology care. Manage daily patient volumes of 12–15 patients. Participate in light beeper call, providing phone-only consults for established patients.
