Doctor of Medicine | Hospitalist Location: Eureka, CA Employer: Adelphi Locums Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: L-MD-04751 Profession: Physician Specialty: Pediatric Hospitalist Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Eureka, CA 95501 Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Call Only Coverage Period: Nov 01, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: 6am – 6am (24-hour call) On-Call Shift Schedule: 24-hour beeper call Call Type: Beeper Call Response Time: 20-30 minutes Reason for Coverage: Scheduling Need Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered COVERAGE DATES Oct 16 – Oct 19, 2026 Oct 25 – Oct 26, 2026 Oct 30 – Nov 02, 2026 Dec 10 – Dec 14, 2026 Dec 24 – Dec 28, 2026 Dec 31, 2026 – Jan 01, 2027 PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: 80% neonatal (32 weeks), 20% pediatric Admissions: 2 Discharges: 2 Case Mix: Neonatology, Pediatrics FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: No Temporary Privileges Available: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required Intubation (ETT/NT) Newborn Pediatrics Central line UVC Needle pneumothorax EKG interpretation Ventilation Management Invasive (ETT) Preferred Ventilation Management (Newborn) (Acute, Chronic) Ventilation Management (Pediatric) (Acute, Chronic) Arterial lines UAC Lumbar puncture Chest tube insertion (Decompression) X-ray interpretation Suturing minor lacerations Nursery Level II/NICU Nursery Level III/NICU ECMO Hemodialysis catheter placement Eval & Mangement of acute volume/BP issues Insertion of Central Line, Arterial Line and PA catheter Diagnostic/Thereapeutic taps (including those below) JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible within 3-5 years of residency Licenses: Licensed in CA DEA: Yes Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP Experience: Neonatology experience preferred; Pediatric hospitalist background Other Qualifications: Clean malpractice history; no NPDB issues, restrictions, or drug issues Duties & Responsibilities Provide inpatient pediatric and neonatal hospitalist coverage, managing 80% NICU and 20% pediatric patients. Perform neonatal airway management including intubation, resuscitation, and management of air leak/pneumothorax. Perform emergent procedures such as UVC/UAC placement, lumbar puncture, and needle decompression. Manage neonatal ventilators and provide respiratory support as needed.
