Quick Facts: Location: Christiansburg, VA Start Date: 02/01/2026 Duration: Ongoing/As Needed Shift: Variable; typical shifts as scheduled Hours per Week: Depends on schedule Employment Type: Locum Licenses/Certs: Medical License in Virginia, Board Certification in OB-GYN or Family Medicine with OB focus Experience: Prior OB hospitalist experience preferred Pay & Benefits: Hourly Pay Rate: $214.50 Benefits: Competitive pay packages Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program Paid sick time per law Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable What You’ll Do: Provide emergent OB/GYN coverage in a busy hospital setting Collaborate with in-house anesthesia and backup physicians to ensure seamless patient care Manage a high volume of labor and delivery patients, approximately 72 per month Support NICU-level care coordination with Level 3B hospital backup Assist with GYN emergencies as needed Work closely with a dedicated team committed to quality care and patient safety What You Need: Active medical license in Virginia Board-certified OB-GYN or Family Medicine with OB training Prior hospitalist or OB emergency experience preferred Strong communication and teamwork skills About the Assignment: This opportunity is at a renowned hospital providing OB services in Christiansburg, VA. The facility features a busy Labor & Delivery unit with approximately 72 deliveries monthly, 24/7 anesthesia coverage, and excellent team support. You will be covering emergent GYN needs, with backup support from other OBs and surgical teams. NICU services are available at the main hospital, but onsite neonatal care is not present.
