Doctor of Medicine | Surgery - General/Other Location: Anderson, IN Employer: Adelphi Locums Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: L-MD-43674 Profession: Physician Specialty: General Surgery Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Anderson, IN Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Call Only Coverage Period: Jan 01, 2027 – Ongoing Call Schedule: Thu 7:00 AM – Mon 7:00 AM Every weekend OR every other weekend Call Type: Beeper Call Ratio: 1:4 Call Response Time: 30 minutes Reason for Coverage: Call coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered by Agency PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 8 patients/day Admissions: Hospitalist Admit Rounding: Both Phone Consults: 3 FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Support Staff: RNs: 4, Office Staff: 1 PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: No Temporary Privileges Available: No REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required: General Surgery (Adult, Trauma) Chest tube insertion Central line insertion Preferred: Laparoscopic Surgery (Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Hernioplasty, Nissen Fundoplication, D&C, Hysterectomy, Liver surgery) GI endoscopy (Upper, Lower, Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy) Minor Orthopedics Hand Surgery Ventilation management PA Catheter placement Laser certification Vascular Surgery (Aneurysm repairs, Thoracic, Abdominal, Arterial bypass, Peripheral, Vascular access devices, AV shunt) Plastic Surgery (Artesias, Esophageal, Intestinal, Biliary, Abdominal wall defects, Gastroschisis, Umbilical defects, Hernia, Omphalocele, Diaphragmatic hernia, Imperforate anus, PDA ligation) JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC required (Board Eligible) Licenses: Licensed in IN Certifications: BLS, ATLS Duties & Responsibilities Provide general surgery call coverage for inpatient cases during weekends (Thursday 7:00 AM to Monday 7:00 AM). Respond to emergency surgical consultations and perform necessary procedures. Manage trauma and acute surgical patients, including chest tube and central line insertions.
