Doctor of Medicine | Surgery - General/Other Location: Syracuse, NY Employer: Alumni Healthcare Staffing Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Contract Duration: 2 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Specialty Vascular Surgery State NY Location 301 Prospect Ave, Syracuse, NY Requirements St. Joseph's Health Syracuse NY is seeking NP/PA! Dates of Coverage: ASAP-ongoing likely 6 months. FTE hours 40/week with some call. service coverage spread amongst 7-8 APPs. Shifts vary can do mix of 10s or 12s depending but must be flexible for either. Nights and weekends are required but would be rotated amongst all staff. Call is either staying beyond shift end to cover OR only or else home phone call if already home. Weekend and night shifts are in-house and not considered call they are scheduled hours. 40 hours/week but on weeks with enough staff could potentially accommodate 3 12s for 36 hours. Typical shifts are 7a-5p 7a-7p 9a-9p 7p-7a or any mix thereof depending on staffing needs.Call Coverage: YesCall Type: In house and Beeper CallCall Ratio: Typically 1-2 days a weekAverage Amount of Call Back Hours: lt4 the call person typically stays about 4-5 hours post shift to cover OR almost never get called 'back in' after going home if this occurred would typically be phone call at home with phone/beeper forwarded to cell of Providers Needed: 1. Need PA or NP with RNFA ONLYReason for Coverage: FTE coverage while search for permanentPractice Settings: Inpatient/Hospital Based Patient Population: Adult geriatric Outpatient vs Inpatient: 100 inpatient no clinicAverage of Patients Per Day: Typical census 15-20 patients total. Would round on 3-5 patients/day individually. Average OR cases a day about 7-8. Mix of rounding/OR coverage in a dayTrauma Level Designation: not designatedRequired Duties Procedures Skills etc: Inpatient medical management/rounding. Must be comfortable with medical management diabetes hypertension acute illness as well as pre and post operative vascular surgical care. First assisting in OR for about 5 surgeons. Vascular surgery only no cross specialty coverage. Must be comfortable with open vascular cases peripheral bypass carotid surgery AV fistula creation open abdominal aortic surgery. No IR procedures but bedside procedures may include suturing permcath removal wound vacs dressing changes/wound : EpicAdditional Notes: about 450 bed hospital. Very busy and high acuity vascular surgery service. Directly cover 5 surgeon's patients and surgeries. First assisting and floor coverage. Dedicated full time team of NPs and PAs who have all been there at least 5 years with minimal turnover. Credentialing Timeframe: 90 daysAre Temps Available? Yes Trinity Health does not reimburse for any application or credentialing fees. Schedule Varied, 40 hours/week but on weeks with enough staff could potentially accommodate 3 12s for 36 hours.
