Position Type: Locum | Physician - OB/GYN
Overview
Hospital-based opportunity for a Board-Certified OB/GYN to provide call coverage in Paducah, KY. This role includes a mix of routine and complex deliveries in a supportive environment with midwife collaboration.
Practice Highlights
Setting: Hospital/Call - Labor & Delivery
Reason for Coverage: Short staffed
Beds: 17 total (12 postpartum, 5 birthing suites)
Delivery Volume: 746 total deliveries last year
Nursery Level: II
Average Nursery Admissions: Usually under 10/day
Onsite Labs & Ultrasound
EMR: Epic
Support: Midwives take call and deliver their own patients
Low volume of C-section patients
Candidate Requirements
Board Certified - REQUIRED
Active Kentucky License - REQUIRED (IMLC accepted)
BLS Certified - REQUIRED
Active DEA - REQUIRED
COVID Vaccination - Preferred
Must be able to cover any of the listed dates - REQUIRED
Schedule & Coverage
Coverage Type: Hospital call coverage
Procedures/Duties:
Routine delivery (vaginal, low forceps)
Decision-making for C-sections
Complicated deliveries (C-section, breech, multiple births, abruptions)
VBACs
Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
Credentialing Timeline: ~30 days
