What You'll Do
Provide in-hospital obstetric care for adult patients
Perform routine deliveries, including vaginal, low-forceps
Manage complicated deliveries such as C-sections, breech, and multiple births
Address emergencies and decision-making for C-sections and VBACs
Perform repairs of third and fourth-degree lacerations
Collaborate with midwives for patient care and deliveries
Document care accurately using EPIC EMR system
What You Need
Required: MD or DO with OB/GYN specialization
Valid Kentucky medical license or willingness to obtain
Experience in inpatient obstetric care
Skills in managing routine and complicated deliveries
Preferred: Ability to provide call coverage (in-house and phone call)
Experience working with midwives and labor support teams
About the Assignment This position offers inpatient obstetric coverage at a busy hospital with approximately 700-800 deliveries annually and a nursery level II unit. You'll provide essential labor and delivery services, including supporting midwives, managing complicated cases, and participating in on-call rotation. The facility values high-quality care and teamwork, ensuring a supportive environment for locum providers.
