Job description
Locum Psychiatrist Opportunity in Troy, New York
Inpatient Psychiatry opportunity at a hospital-based adult behavioral health unit seeking Locum Psychiatrists to support inpatient services. This role offers a structured weekday schedule, strong clinical support, and a secure work environment.
Adult inpatient behavioral health unit
30-bed adult unit split between 2 physicians (approximately 15 patients per provider)
Total inpatient capacity: 63 beds
Inpatient team: 3 current physicians with 2 additional locum openings
Outpatient team at full staffing: 5 physicians and 1 APP
EMR: Epic
24/7 hospital security; all staff participate in emergency codes
Pediatric exposure limited to crisis unit only during weekend call, with transfer to adolescent facility if admitted
Candidate Requirements (All Required):
Board Certified in Psychiatry
Active New York license at the time of submission
ACLS certification
Clean background due to expedited credentialing
Must be available full-time (availability to be noted at submission)
Self-Query NPDB report pulled within the same month as submission
Schedule & Coverage:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Call rotation: 1:4
Credentialing: As soon as possible
