Location: Grass Valley, CA
Position Type: Full-Time | Locum | Physician - Radiology (Diagnostic)
Overview
Great locum opportunity for a Diagnostic Radiologist in Northern California. This role offers a steady weekday schedule with no call, focusing on diagnostic reads and breast imaging procedures.
Practice Highlights
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-4p (no call)
Start Date: January (1 week every other month for 6-9 months)
Setting: Outpatient clinic
Focus: Reading studies across all modalities, diagnostic mammograms, and breast biopsies
Required procedures: Mammography, PET reads, and breast biopsies
EMR: Cerner
Support: Radiology techs, US techs, full staff support
Reason for coverage: Physician resignation
Candidate Requirements
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Radiology - Required
California License - Required
Residency completed (no specific fellowship required)
Ability to perform diagnostic mammograms & breast biopsies - Required
BLS, ACLS & DEA active during credentialing - Required
Clean malpractice preferred
Must be available at time of name clear
Schedule & Coverage
One week every other month (rotating with another physician)
Day shift only (8a-4p), no call
90-120 days credentialing required
Case Mix & Volumes
Mammography: ~225 screening mammos & 30 diagnostic mammos per month
Breast procedures: ~13/month (wire loc, biopsy, etc.)
Additional reads: CT, X-ray, Ultrasound, MRI, PET (as able)
Option to send certain cases to teleradiology if needed
