HPA Healthcare is seeking an experienced
Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
for a year-long locum tenens assignment in Worcester, Massachusetts.
This is a high-acuity inpatient Cardiac Surgery opportunity combining
ICU and OR coverage , advanced procedures, mechanical circulatory support and required call.
Assignment Highlights
Pay Ranking: Top-Tier Cardiac Surgery APP Compensation
Regular Pay: $175/hour
52-week assignment
PA or NP
Variable 12–13-hour shifts
Cardiac Surgery ICU + OR
Approximately 5–10 ICU patients/day
Approximately 1–2 OR cases/day
Approximately 2 nights of call/week
Approximately 1 weekend of call/month
LVAD/HeartMate
Impella
VA ECMO
IABP
Epic
Massachusetts license preferred but not required for consideration
Local candidates preferred; travel candidates considered
Clinical Responsibilities
The APP will provide inpatient Cardiac Surgery coverage across the ICU and OR.
Responsibilities and procedures may include central and dialysis line insertion, arterial line insertion, Swan-Ganz, chest tube insertion, IABP removal and temporary pacing wire removal.
Candidates should have experience with advanced cardiac support equipment including
LVAD/HeartMate, Impella, VA ECMO, ventilators, bedside ultrasound and IABP .
