Locum Tenens Cardiology Nurse Practitioner Job in Hickory, North Carolina

Position: Locum Tenens Cardiology Nurse Practitioner
Location: Hickory, North Carolina 28601
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 13 weeks, ongoing coverage needs
Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,270 - $3,870
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-6:00 PM and/or 7-on/7-off model with occasional weekends
Setting: Inpatient cardiology
EMR: Cerner experience required
Licensure: Active North Carolina NP license and North Carolina DEA required
Certification: BLS required
Patient Volume: Approximately 10-12 patient encounters per shift
Job Requirements
Minimum 1 year of experience as a cardiology APP, Nurse Practitioner, or in a comparable inpatient setting
Previous locum tenens experience preferred
Current active North Carolina Nurse Practitioner license
Current North Carolina DEA
Experience with Cerner EMR
Ability to work independently while supporting a strong cardiology team
BLS certification
Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and patient care focus
Responsibilities
Complete inpatient cardiology rounding and consults
Assist cardiologists with daily patient care needs
Manage approximately 10-12 patient encounters per shift
Document accurately and efficiently in Cerner
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the care team
Provide high-quality, patient-centered cardiology care in an inpatient environment
Support coverage needs with flexibility for weekday, 7-on/7-off, and occasional weekend shifts
