Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Family Practice Discipline: Nurse Practitioner Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Locum Tenens Family Nurse Practitioner – Outpatient Primary Care Location: Ketchikan, Alaska Compensation: $95–$100/hour (1099) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Call: None Setting: Outpatient Family Medicine Opportunity Overview Arc Health is seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) for an outpatient primary care opportunity in beautiful Ketchikan, Alaska . This position offers a consistent weekday schedule, no call, a manageable patient volume, and the opportunity to provide meaningful care to a rural and underserved community. The FNP will work alongside an established multidisciplinary team while caring for patients across the lifespan. Position Highlights Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM No call Approximately 50 patients per week Mix of scheduled appointments and walk-ins Pediatrics through geriatric care Cerner EHR Collaborative clinical and support team $95–$100/hour as a 1099 contractor Travel provided Local housing provided Rental car provided Malpractice coverage, including tail insurance Clinical Responsibilities The Family Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive outpatient primary care, including: Acute and chronic disease management Preventive and wellness visits Pediatric, adult and geriatric care Women's health and gynecologic services Family planning and STD screening/education Health maintenance and immunizations Physical examinations Minor procedures and suturing Evaluation, diagnosis and treatment planning Appropriate referrals to specialty or higher-level care Patient education and follow-up Collaboration with physicians and other members of the healthcare team The clinic is supported by nursing, medical assistants and other advanced practice providers, with additional specialty services available through referral. Requirements Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Master's degree from an accredited nursing program Current, unrestricted Alaska RN and FNP license for the 1099 option Active DEA Current BLS and ACLS Ability to meet credentialing and privileging requirements Two years of Family Medicine experience preferred Successful background/security screening Commitment to rural and underserved healthcare Experience Ketchikan Located along Alaska's southeastern coast, Ketchikan offers a setting unlike almost anywhere else in the country. Surrounded by the Tongass National Forest and the waters of the Inside Passage, the area is known for incredible scenery, fishing, hiking, wildlife, and a rich cultural heritage influenced by the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian peoples. Ketchikan is accessible by air through Ketchikan International Airport (KTN) and by ferry.
