Job description
We are seeking a LocumsEmergency Medicine Physician to provide coverage in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Thisopportunity offers flexible scheduling in a busy emergency department with amoderate annual patient volume and a collaborative clinical environment.
PositionHighlights
Schedule: 4–12 shifts permonth
Shift Length: 8 hours
Available Shifts:
6:30 AM–2:30 PM
1:30 PM–10:30PM
9:30 PM–6:30 AM
Annual ED Volume: Approximately22,000 patients
EMR: Epic
Dictation: Dragon
Scribes: None
PatientVolume & Acuity
Approximately 77% discharge rate
Approximately 14% admission rate
Approximately 4% left beforetreatment complete
Approximately 2.8% observation
Approximately 2.5% transfer
Responsibilities
Provide routine emergency medicine careto patients of varying acuity
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patientspresenting to the Emergency Department
Respond to codes and other emergentsituations
Perform appropriate emergency proceduresand interventions
Collaborate with nursing staff,consultants, and other members of the healthcare team
Locums physicians will have limitedtrauma responsibilities
Complete accurate and timelydocumentation using Epic and Dragon
Requirements
Active Iowa medical license
Active DEA
Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and ATLScertifications
Emergency Medicine experience required
