Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWeare seeking a Board-Certified Hospitalist Physician for a locum tenensopportunity in Petoskey, MI. This hospital-based position focuses on providingdaytime care to adult inpatient medical patients, managing acute and chronicconditions, and coordinating treatment with the healthcare team. The idealcandidate has strong Internal Medicine skills and experience caring for adultinpatients outside the ICU/CCU.
Schedule & Practice Details
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Shift Length: 12 hours
Initial Schedule: One shift every four weeks
Schedule Change: Transitioning to every other week beginning in December
Weekend Coverage: Required
Coverage Period: December 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027
Practice Setting: Hospital-based
On-Call Requirements: None specified
Patient Population: Adult inpatient
ICU/CCU Coverage: Not required
EHR: Cerner
Responsibilities
Provide daytime medical care for hospitalized adult patients.
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Monitor patient progress and adjust care as needed.
Coordinate treatment and discharge planning with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
Complete accurate and timely documentation in Cerner.
Support continuity of care throughout the hospital stay.
Qualifications & Requirements
MD or DO degree
Board Certification required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Active DEA registration
