Locums – Kalispell, Montana, Psychiatry Job
Start Date: ASAP
Practice Setting:
Scheduled clinical hours plus call
Trauma Level III
Pediatric Trauma Level III
Hospital stroke certified
EMR: MediTech
Assigned and unassigned patients
Clinic Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
No patients scheduled during the lunch hour
Average patient volume: 7–14 visits per day
Visit lengths may be scheduled in 20-minute increments, ranging from 20–120 minutes depending on visit type and provider preference
Clinic Team:
2 Psychiatrists
1 PMHNP
2 Licensed Therapists
Support Staff:
2 Front Office Staff
1 RN
0.5 RN Clinic Manager
Call Requirements:
Call type: Beeper
Call response time: 30 minutes
Call ratio: 1:7
Call back: 0%
Average call activity per 24 hours: Phone consults: 2
Patients seen: 12
Admissions: 2
Weekend On-Call Coverage:
Provider will participate in weekend on-call coverage for the Acute Behavioral Health Stabilization Unit
Call ratio: Approximately 1 week in 6–7
Call period: Friday at 5:00 p.m. through Monday at 8:00 a.m.
Provider must be available by phone 24 hours a day during the weekend call period
Responsibilities include: Accepting new admissions
Reviewing patients evaluated by a Crisis Interventionist
Managing voluntary admissions and occasional mental health hold/involuntary admissions
Completing daily rounds on new admissions
Completing daily rounds on currently admitted inpatients
Acute Behavioral Health Stabilization Unit:
2-bed special care unit
18-bed adult unit
18-bed adolescent unit for ages 11–17
Average daily census: Approximately 12 patients across all units combined
Nursing and support staffing is adjusted based on census
On-Site Support:
RNs and Psychiatric Technicians available 24/7
Licensed Clinical Therapists
Recreation Therapist
Security available/on call 24/7
Housekeeping staff
Kitchen staff
Requirements:
Board Certified in Psychiatry
Active Montana license or IMLC accepted
BLS certification required
Fellowship preferred
