Low Voltage Electrician
Worksite Location: Ormond Beach, FL
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and test low voltage electrical systems in a manufacturing environment. This position supports reliable operation of data, communications, security, fire alarm, and control systems while ensuring work meets applicable safety standards and electrical codes.
Responsibilities
Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low voltage systems, including:
Structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber optics)
CCTV, access control, and intrusion alarm systems
Fire alarm systems
Audio/visual and communication systems
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Perform system testing, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
Use testing equipment such as cable testers, multimeters, and OTDRs.
Ensure installations comply with applicable NEC, BICSI, and safety standards.
Maintain accurate installation, repair, and inspection documentation.
Support system upgrades, retrofits, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred.
2+ years of low voltage electrical experience.
Working knowledge of NEC and industry standards, including BICSI.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with network infrastructure and IP-based systems preferred.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces.
Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work for extended periods.
Work may include indoor and outdoor environments.
Occasional overtime or travel may be required based on business needs.
