Low Voltage Technician - Security, Access Control & Surveillance
We are hiring a Low Voltage Technician to install, service, and maintain commercial low voltage systems. This role works with security systems, access control, IP cameras, surveillance systems, alarm systems, telecommunications, ATMs, cash safes, and vault equipment. Ideal candidates have hands-on field experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently at customer sites.
Responsibilities
* Install, configure, program, and test low voltage systems
* Work with security cameras (CCTV/IP), access control, alarm systems, intercoms, and telecom
* Run, terminate, label, and test low voltage cabling
* Troubleshoot and repair wiring, panels, sensors, and field devices
* Perform system upgrades, firmware updates, and preventive maintenance
* Read wiring diagrams and follow installation specifications
* Complete service reports and job documentation
* Coordinate with project managers, technicians, and customers
* Follow NEC codes, safety standards, and company procedures
* Provide basic customer training on system operation
Qualifications
* Experience as a Low Voltage Technician, Security Technician, Alarm Technician, or Access Control Technician
* Knowledge of CCTV, IP-based surveillance systems, access control, alarms, and structured cabling
* Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
* Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
* Familiarity with electrical codes and low voltage standards
* Ability to work on ladders, lifts, confined spaces, and outdoor environments
* Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
* High school diploma required; low voltage certifications preferred
