Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician responsible for the installation and maintenance of security and surveillance systems. This role involves working with access control hardware, IP cameras, and low-voltage cabling. The ideal candidate will excel in both independent and team settings, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized jobsite.
Responsibilities
Install card readers, electric locks, request-to-exit devices, door contacts, and associated access control hardware.
Install and mount IP cameras, brackets, housings, poles, and related surveillance equipment.
Pull, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling.
Install EMT, IMC, and other raceway systems.
Install network switches, PoE equipment, equipment cabinets, and supporting infrastructure.
Read blueprints, drawings, and installation plans.
Test, troubleshoot, and verify operation of security devices and camera systems.
Configure basic network-connected security equipment.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite.
Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
Essential Skills
Experience with low voltage systems, fire alarms, and wire pulling.
Proficiency with hand tools and installation of cables and data cables.
Experience with access control systems, CCTV/IP camera systems, and electronic door hardware.
Knowledge of low voltage cabling, Cat5e/Cat6/Fiber installation, and conduit installation.
Understanding of basic networking, including IP addressing, PoE, and network switches.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Construction or electrical experience is preferred but not required.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
Comfortable using hand tools and power tools.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms.
Willingness to travel as project needs require.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, SC.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $37.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
