Job description
WCS Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and organized Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join a pediatric practice in Center Moriches, NY , affiliated with a leading hospital in the area. The LPN will provide direct patient care to infants, children, and adolescents under the supervision of the practice's clinical team.
Position Overview
Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Location: Center Moriches, NY — Suffolk County
Practice Type: Pediatric office affiliated with a top regional hospital
Reports To: Practice Manager / Supervising Clinical Staff
Employment Type: Full-time (Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm)
Responsibilities
Provide direct, age-appropriate patient care to pediatric patients under the supervision of the practice.
Measure and document vital signs, chief complaints, medical history, and other relevant clinical information.
Administer medications and immunizations in accordance with provider orders, practice protocols, and New York State regulations.
Perform screenings for annual, preventive, and follow-up care needs.
Collect, label, and process specimens; assist with diagnostic testing and referrals when needed.
Maintain accurate, confidential medical records in the electronic health record system.
Perform front-office and clerical duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, greeting patients, and coordinating communication with other departments.
Educate patients and caregivers on visit preparation, medications, follow-up instructions, and general care guidance.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment; follow infection-control and safety protocols.
Qualifications
Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license and registration in New York State ; NYSED requires LPNs to be licensed and registered to practice in New York.
High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an approved practical nursing program; current NYSED registration is required to practice.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, parents, and caregivers.
Emotional resilience, dedication, attention to detail, and self-motivation.
Comfort with electronic medical records, phones, scheduling, and general office technology.
Preferred Experience
Prior pediatric, family medicine, or outpatient clinical experience.
Familiarity with pediatric growth, development, immunizations, and caregiver communication.
