nLocation: 127 Kentington Drive, Durham, North Carolina 27713

nSummary: The Lube Technician is responsible for performing express lube duties on vehicles.

nSupervisory Responsibilities: This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

nEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

nnnAdheres to express lube guidelines.

n

nnPerforms lube, oil and filter changes by draining and replacing oil and filter, and lubricating all joints, including idler arm steering knuckles, tie rods ends and ball joints.

n

nnReports all necessary repairs to service advisor.

n

nnInstalls completed LOF reminder sticker in vehicle.

n

nnChecks battery, tire air pressure, windshield fluid, transmission fluid and power steering fluid levels and refills as needed.

n

nnChecks coolant level and refills as necessary.

n

nnEnsures that vehicle is clean and free of fluid residue or fingerprints.

n

nnChecks fluid level prior to release of vehicle to ensure proper levels.

n

nnMaintains CSI at or above Company standards

n

nnMaintains an organized, clean and safe work area

n

nnParticipates in required training

n

nnRecords all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system

n

nnFollows Safeguards rules and regulations.

n

nnDemonstrates the Company’s Core Values

nnComplies with Company policies and procedures

n

nnObserves all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.

nBasic knowledge of automotive parts and systems. Demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge. Technical training or commensurate technical experience.

nCertificates and Licenses:

n√ Valid Driver’s License

no Automobile Salesperson License

nComputer Skills:

nBasic Computer skills to utilize timekeeping system.

nCommunication Skills:

nAbility to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.

nAttendance Expectations:

nThe position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.

nPhysical Demands:

nMust be able to lift up to (50) pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

nEnvironment Demands:

nDuties are performed primarily in the service area. Work includes movement around vehicles, working in various physical positions, and the safe operation of power tools and test equipment. May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service and repair conditions. Frequently interacts with service advisors and the service manager.

nVerbal and Writing Ability:

nAbility to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.

nMath Ability:

nAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

nReasoning Ability:

nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations. Ability to understand and follow technical manuals.
