LV Structured Cabling TechnicianNational Network Services (NNS) is seeking a skilled LV Structured Cabling Technician to support commercial cabling projects and assist in the development of junior technicians. You will be responsible for the successful completion of assigned tasks and projects while maintaining company standards for safety, quality, and productivity. This role requires experience with structured cabling installations, pathway construction, cable termination, testing, troubleshooting, and crew leadership.The ideal candidate will be capable of mentoring entry-level technicians, leading small project teams, and communicating effectively with project managers, customers, and fellow technicians.Structured Cabling InstallationRead and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specificationsInstall and support structured cabling systems in commercial environmentsLayout and install pathways, ladder rack systems, cable trays, backboards, sleeves, and supporting infrastructureIdentify fire-rated walls and implement proper firestopping methodsEnsure installations meet company quality standards and industry best practicesCable Termination & TestingSet up and operate copper cable testing equipmentTroubleshoot cabling issues using industry-standard test equipmentTerminate and dress copper cabling on:110 BlocksPatch PanelsBIX BlocksKrone/ADC BlocksPerform cable certification and testing to verify installation qualityLeadership & TrainingLead small crews on assigned tasks and projectsEnsure safety, productivity, and quality objectives are achievedMentor and train Level I Technicians to support their career developmentAssign daily work activities and provide field guidance as neededFollow direction from Lead Technicians and Project Managers while supporting overall project successPathway ConstructionDemonstrate working knowledge of:J-HooksLadder Rack SystemsCable Tray and Flex Tray SystemsAnchor SelectionCeiling and Beam TypesSleeve InstallationFirestop SystemsWhat You'll BringDemonstrated competency in all Level I Technician responsibilitiesExperience installing structured cabling systems in commercial environmentsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawingsExperience with cable termination, testing, and troubleshootingStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to lead small crews and coordinate daily work activitiesValid Driver's LicenseReliable vehicle capable of transporting materials and ladders up to 8 feet in length between job sitesBasic hand tools requiredPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry up to 80 poundsAbility to work on ladders and active construction sitesAbility to stand, bend, kneel, and work overhead for extended periodsAbility to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditionsPreferred QualificationsIndustry certifications related to structured cabling or low-voltage systemsExperience working in education, healthcare, industrial, or large commercial construction environmentsFamiliarity with BICSI installation standards and best practicesWorking with our CompanyFounded in 1989, National Network Services (NNS) is an industry leader in the installation and support of Structured Cabling, Physical Security, Audio Visual, and DC Power Systems.
