Mach Shop Tech SpecialistSalary Range $38.00 - $64.00 HourlyJob DescriptionMachine Shop Technical Specialist Salary Range: $38.00 - $64.00/ Hr. Position will start in Oxnard, CA and relocate to Henderson, NV in early 2027. As the largest machine tool builder in the western world, we need world-class talent in all of our departments. Oh, and yes, we are the same Haas that owns the Haas Factory Racing Team, and Haas F1 Team from the Netflix series: Drive to Survive.The Machine Shop Technical Specialist will implement, sustain and evaluate machining processes to reduce cost, improve throughput, and develop best practices within the machine shop. The main focus is on implementing and maintaining reliable and safe machining processes while improving quality, production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers. Machine Shop Technical Specialist will identify, develop and deliver innovative solutions to constantly improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include The Following. Other Duties May Be Assigned.Access and understand daily and weekly schedules.Find, read, write & follow work instructions displayed electronically (iPad).Correctly use all precision measuring instruments to verify part integrity.Correctly load and unload parts.Set-up and manage applicable tools.Make any machine adjustment to maintain part integrity.Restart the machines at the required place in the operation.Design and make fixtures using CAD.Generate an effective CNC program using CAM.Produce good parts when given just a blueprint and a machine.Design and implement a complete machining process that will run continuously unattended. This includes probing, back up tooling, macros, design of complex fixtures that are easy to use and continuously improving the process.Identify the proper gages to ensure part integrity.Train Operators to run the machines and produce good parts upon completion of a set up.Train others on machining principles and techniques.Maintain machines (oils, coolant, filters, and cleanliness).Display the leadership qualities required to keep multiple machines running effectively.Present and communicate technical issues at the highest level within the organization.Identify potential machine geometry issues causing bad parts.Follow all safety requirements within the department.Must be able to operate both powered and non-powered material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jack, cranes, and mobile straddle stacker lift.Employees are expected to follow instructions, procedures and to escalate any issue impacting workflow, quality, etc. Employees must exhibit honesty and integrity as well as demonstrate adherence to rules, procedures and policies.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty adequately. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Minimum Qualifications:Reads and understands blueprints.Knows how to inspect a part.Understands proper applicable cutting tool selection, applicable tool wear and cutting tool applications.Requires technical leadership.Can troubleshoot all technical issues.Desired Qualifications: It is preferred to able to speak, read, and write in Spanish.Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency (HSE) credential such as general education degree (GED) is required, plus an additional one to three months related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred Major: Other.Minimum Years of Experience: 20+ years.Language Skills: Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations in English. Must be able to write analytical and/or technical reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and create instructional reference material. Able to speak effectively before groups, customers, employees of the organization and/or the general public.Mathematical Skills: Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. May need to draw and interpret graphs.Reasoning Ability: Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
