Machine Builder (Automation) | Build High-Speed EquipmentWe're hiring a Machine Builder to build, troubleshoot, and refine high-speed automated assembly machines. This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with engineering to bring complex automation systems to life from initial build to final debug and startup.If you enjoy solving mechanical challenges, working with precision equipment, and seeing machines you built run in production, this is the role for you.What You'll DoBuild automated assembly machines and sub-assemblies from engineering drawingsAssemble and debug systems including: pneumatics, indexers, pick-and-place units; tooling, punches, dies, and forming componentsTroubleshoot and debug new machines and processesPerform machine alignment, setup, and final adjustmentsWork with PLC-controlled systems and assist with troubleshootingUse manual mills and shop tools to modify and refine componentsCollaborate with engineering teams to solve build and performance issuesRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentationMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environmentWhat We're Looking ForHands-on mechanical builders (entry to mid-level welcome)3+ years building, assembling, or troubleshooting equipment ORExperience in machine building, maintenance, tool & die, or similar fieldsStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsAbility to read blueprints and technical drawingsComfortable working with precision assemblies and tight tolerancesPreferred (Not Required)Experience with automated assembly equipmentExposure to PLC systems or controls troubleshootingExperience with pneumatics and motion systemsExperience with machine shop tools (manual mill, fabrication, etc.)Trade school, associates degree, or technical trainingWhy You'll Love This JobBuild high-speed, custom automation equipment from the ground upWork alongside engineers on cutting-edge projectsStrong career growth into lead builder, controls, or engineering rolesCollaborative, hands-on team environment that values craftsmanshipFull benefits package: health, dental, vision, and 401(k)Work EnvironmentDedicated automation build facility with modern toolingWork in both prototype and production build areasHighly collaborative environment with builders and engineers working side-by-sideHands-on, technical role working directly with precision machinery and control systemsApply TodayIf you're a builder who likes working with your hands, solving technical challenges, and seeing your work come to life in high-speed automation systems, we want to talk to you.Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Cary, IL.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
