Job TitleAssembles repairs, maintains, designs and fabricates parts for assembly machinery by performing the following duties.All employees are expected to act in a safe manner at all times and ensure that those around them do not put themselves or others at risk. Other duties may be assigned.Construction, repair and general maintenance of assembly machinery. Repairs or replaces defective parts.Installs special structural parts in assembly machinery.Set up and operate mills, lathes, power saws, drills, grinders, sanders, welding equipment etc.Must follow all work rules and policies.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must pass skills assessment.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage and draw/interpret bar graphs.Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and sit, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, squat, or crawl.The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 58 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
