Job description
Job ResponsibilitiesBuild Mechanical sub-assemblies, final assemblies, Testing Machines, and any other Mechanical task for the job. (Other Automotive Integration)Complete as required in process QC check sheets.Complete as required QC audits.Assure good craftsmanship on jobs that are being built.Follow good housekeeping practices.Take direction from Leader and/or SupervisorProvide feedback on job status to Mechanical Assembly Leader.Know and understand due dates for jobs and schedule work accordingly.Follow-up with supervisor on daily basis to report progress of job(s) being worked on.Assist in disassembly, packing and loading of machines for shipment.Fill-in where required for absences.Order material and follow-up with receiving when required.Assist in start-up/de-bug of equipment.Recommend as appropriate work methods and/or materials that will improve existing designs.Travel as needed to assist in installations, de-bug, tryout, or problem solving at customer locations.Read and interpret build prints. Work with Mechanical Engineers and build Leaders to correct any problems with design of the machine/controls.Recommend, initiate, and follow-up as needed on engineering changes and document according to ECO procedures.Work on continuous improvement and special projects as needed.Provide training and assistance to new employees.Job RequirementsHigh School Diploma required4 years experience as a Machine BuilderTool-maker ActivitiesAble to determine assembly process from mechanical blueprintsSnap chalk lines and install floor platesInstall sealer equipment and camera stationsInstall fenceInstall upper cable trayInstall toolingInstall framing systemInstall light screens and gate keysRead mechanical blueprints and bill of materialAssembly unitsAbility to drill, tap and ream holesAble to use an optical levelUse of hand saw, drill press and grindersWould cover these items during first few days OJTStencil and tagging frameCheck list completionTorque auditTool List½, 3/8", air ratchet or battery powered ImpactSmall Ball Peen HammerSmall Brass Hammer6, 10 & 12 Crescent Wrench12 combination Square2 Polisher3/8 Air Hand Drill or battery powered3/8 & ½ Ratchets6 Calipers8 Torpedo LevelDe-burring ToolDrift Punches/Brass PunchMetric Allen WrenchesMetric Tape MeasureMetric WrenchesMetric, 3/8, & ½ Allen head socketsScribe6" scaleTap HandleCenter PunchAir Grinder½" Torque Wrench (Certified in house for use)Feeler GaugesJob Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 - $34.00 per hour Depending on Exp.10+ Hour days 6-7 days Per week.Automotive Integration
