Job description

Mechanical Assembly TechnicianUnder regular supervision, performs mechanical assembly and electrical assembly tasks required in a machine-building environment.Essential Duties And Responsibilities1. Panel Building (Primary)Layout according to printMount hardware, wireways and terminal stripsWires all devices according to printLabels strips and devices2. Machine Wiring (Primary)Runs correctly sized conduit between devicesMount wireway as requiredPulls, labels and terminates wires at devices and junction boxes3. Machine Testing (Primary)Check input/output to all devicesVerify all devices operate correctlyCheck operation of systems control device4. Machine BuildingAssemble mechanical assemblies to print.Plumb pneumatic, hydraulic and hydronic systems from schematics.Level and align components to specifications.Miscellaneous Responsibilities1. Complete work assignments in compliance with Company safety standards2. Provide and maintains personal hand tools required to effectively perform work assignments.3. Maintain organized and clean work environment.4. Assist in training of employees.5. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. One year certificate from college or technical school; Five years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.2. Capable of understanding engineering drawings, routings, and BOM's.3. Capable of understanding pneumatic, hydraulic and hydronic schematics.4. Capable of understanding electrical schematics.5. Familiar with industrial machine control devices.6. Excellent wiring techniques.7. Strong mechanical aptitude.8. Familiar with N.E.C. practices.9. Ability to use computer programs in an effective manner.10. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.11. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.12. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.3. Must be able to obtain fork truck, scissor lift, and crane certification.4.
