Job description
Machine Operator 2Uses basic and some advanced processes to set up, adjust, and operate various machine tools to form and/or machine aerospace quality detail hardware.Functions and ResponsibilitiesPerform defined setups and non-complex operations using engine lathes, milling machines, punch press, forming press, shear, press brake, expander and/or other machinery on production hardware.Detect faulty processes and help provide input for their resolution.Interpret and follow written instructions, sketches, drawings and documents.Use precision instruments to check tolerances and quality of parts.Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.Responsible for ensuring proper documentation is entered on manufacturing planning (including correct quantities) and paperless timecard system.Able to work with others to develop new jobs.May train others on basic operations.Work under limited oversightSkills and ExperienceReads and understands manufacturing planning, sketches, blueprints, and specifications as necessary to perform the job function.One to two years CNC experience and familiarity with sheet metal forming, nickel based alloys and titanium helpful.Knows when to stop and ask for clarification.Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Knows where to find this information at Exotic, and asks for help when necessary.Understand proper setup and use of tooling associated with machines.Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments and good manual dexterity.Required to perform shop mathematics associated with machining operations.Has a demonstrated expertise in multiple machine tools which may involve multiple machine processes.Working ConditionsDemonstrate proper and safe operation of equipment, and personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses/full face shield, hearing protection, heat reflective body garments and gloves as required.Physical RequirementsThe machine operator performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing and handling of material.This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.Competitive CompensationPay Range: $23.5/hr to $37.1/hrParticipation in Annual Incentive ProgramBenefit & Retirement PlansParker offers competitive benefit programs, including:Comprehensive coverage for medical, prescription drugs, dental, vision, voluntary optional life, accident insurance, hospital indemnity insurance and critical illness insurance with competitive premium cost.401(k) Plan with company matching contributions at 100% of the first 5% of pay.Company provided defined-contribution retirement plan with annual contribution equal to 3% of pay.Career development and tuition reimbursement.Other benefits including paid parental leave, short and long-term disability programs, adoption assistance, a Care.com membership and financial planning assistance are provided at no cost to you.Supplemental benefit programs including identity protection, legal protection, and pet wellness are available at competitive rates.Paid Time Off and Company-Paid Holidays.Parker is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
