Machine Operator 2Location: Colorado Springs, COEmployment Type: Contract to HireSchedule: 12 hour shifts - every other week as follows; 3 days one week, 4 days the following weekShifts: Days 7am - 7pm or Nights 7pm - 7amJob Summary:The Machine Operator 2 position is responsible for performing intermediate machine operation activities within our semiconductor company. This position manages equipment operations, implements setup procedures, and maintains production standards for manufacturing processes. The role requires solid understanding of machine operation principles, technical skills, and attention to detail to effectively manage equipment operations with limited supervision.Responsibilities:Machine Operation (35%)Manage manufacturing equipment operation and production processesOperate complex machinery according to detailed specificationsMonitor and control machine parameters and operational settingsImplement production throughput and efficiency improvementsEnsure adherence to established procedures and standardsTraining other operators as neededMachine Setup (20%)Manage machine setup and changeover proceduresImplement tooling installations and adjustmentsDevelop setup verification and validation processesCreate setup documentation and reference guidesEnsure proper setup parameters and configuration standardsQuality Management (15%)Implement in-process quality control proceduresIdentify quality deviations and product non-conformancesVerify product specifications and dimensional requirementsDevelop quality documentation and defect reportingEnsure compliance with quality standards and proceduresProduction Efficiency (10%)Manage machine efficiency and performance metricsImplement minor equipment adjustments for optimizationDevelop production rate improvements and cycle time reductionsCreate efficiency tracking and documentationEnsure maximum equipment utilizationCross-functional Collaboration (10%)Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and production planning teamsParticipate actively in production meetings and shift handoversFacilitate communication regarding equipment requirementsGather inputs from technical staff and supervisorsEnsure alignment of machine operations with manufacturing objectivesProblem Solving (10%)Identify and resolve routine equipment and production issuesImplement troubleshooting methodologies and approachesDevelop corrective actions for operational problemsCreate documentation of issues and resolutionsEnsure continuous improvement in machine operationsPhysical Requirements:Good physical stamina and technical aptitudeWillingness to work in various manufacturing environments and conditionsMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; Vocational/Technical training preferred1 to 3 years of experience in machine operation, manufacturing, or related roleExperience with multiple equipment types and production processesDemonstrated understanding of quality standards in a manufacturing environmentTechnical understanding of equipment functionality, controls, and operational parametersStrong proficiency with measurement devices, gauges, and quality inspection toolsStrong attention to detail and accuracy in machine operations and quality verificationStrong understanding of workplace safety and equipment operation protocolsBasic computer skills for equipment interfaces and data entryDesired Qualifications:Commitment to continuous improvement in manufacturing operationsSolid understanding of production processes and machine capabilitiesAbility to interpret technical documents and follow complex proceduresExperience with production reporting and efficiency trackingKnowledge of basic machine maintenance and careEffective written and verbal communication abilitiesProblem-solving capabilities with analytical approachAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentSolid knowledge of machine operation principles and practicesLevel of Authority:Performs intermediate machine operation tasks with limited supervisionMakes decisions regarding equipment settings and operational parametersIdentifies and escalates complex equipment issues and challengesWorks with moderate independence on assigned machineryFollows established policies while contributing improvement suggestionsJob Complexity:Performs moderately complex machine operation activities requiring technical judgmentManages equipment with interdependent components and operational parametersWorks with varied machine types and production processesRequires solid understanding of equipment operation and manufacturing principlesExpected to maintain accuracy while managing production operationsCollaborates with various stakeholders across the organizationIdentifies operational issues and recommends appropriate solutionsA reasonable estimate of the pay for this position is $20.00 an hour. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee's total compensation package.
