Job description
Machine Operator & AssemblerAs a Machine Operator reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for efficiently running the production line. This involves operating machinery, ensuring proper feeding of raw materials through the manufacturing process, resolving line stoppages, clearing equipment jams, verifying finished products against quality specifications, and preparing products for shipment.Location: Northside of JaxShift: 2nd shift 3PM - 11PM | Training will be on day shiftPay: $17 - $21/hr (DOE)ResponsibilitiesUnload incoming inventory from trucks multiple times per day during the transition period.Inspect incoming packages, verify contents, and check for accuracy and condition.Receive parts into inventory using warehouse management systems and RF scanners.Operate manufacturing equipment in accordance with established operating procedures.Ensure products meet established quality specifications.Document quality checks and production numbers.Operate counterbalance, propane-powered forklifts.Identify items contributing to downtime using computerized systems and hand-written production reports.Essential SkillsAt least 3 months of experience in warehouse distribution or a similar warehouse environment.Experience with picking, packing, production, inventory control, packaging, and shipping and receiving.At least 3 months of experience using RF scanners for inventory and order processing.Ability to use warehouse management systems (WMS) and work comfortably with computers and numeric data entry.Experience performing inventory or cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.Ability to operate manual pallet jacks safely.Capability to lift up to 45 pounds on a regular basis.Comfort working on your feet for the majority of the day in a large warehouse setting.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience with setting up, running machines, hand/power tools, and assembly.Strong attention to detail when checking packages, verifying inventory, and keying in data.Ability to adapt to changing duties as the warehouse transitions from move-in to full operations.Good problem-solving skills to research and locate missing parts within the facility.Reliability and punctuality to support daily truck unloads and time-sensitive shipments.Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with other warehouse staff and departments.Why Work Here?You can grow your career in a stable, expanding warehouse operation that offers clear opportunities for advancement and internal transfers to other locations. The operation involves frequent truck unloading, shelving, and picking activities, with regular use of RF scanners, warehouse management systems, and manual pallet jacks. The role follows typical warehouse hours and supports an active, fast-paced logistics environment. Steel-toed boots are required as part of the dress code, and a boot credit is provided to help meet this requirement.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
