Machine Operator - Day ShiftMachine Operator - Day Shift - $18.50/hour - 6:00am-2:00pm Monday - FridayWe are currently looking for a Machine Operator - Day Shift - $18.50/hour - 6:00am-2:00pm Monday thru Friday to be based out of Houston, TX. Reporting to the Supervisor, this person will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and making adjustments or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications. The Operator sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environmentSets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery.Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and in a timely fashion.Performs necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipmentOperates/monitors multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stopsCommunicates with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materialsCompletes documentation including daily production reports, regular quality inspections, and safety inspections of equipmentActively participate in Atkore's safety programCross train in different areas of the shop as requiredEnsure all processes are carried out with the required use of safety controls and PPEAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environmentAll other duties as assigned Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.What you'll bring:High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)Ability to work scheduled hours Monday-FridayExperience as a Machine Operator a plusExperience in a manufacturing environment is a plusKnowledge of Production ProceduresAbility to Read Blueprints, Schematics and ManualsAttention to DetailTeamworkWork IndependentlyMultitaskKnowledge of lean production processes preferred.Ability to stand and work a 10-hour shift in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environmentMust be willing to work overtime as neededTime ManagementProcess ImprovementInventory ControlData Entry SkillsAnalyze InformationAll associates must embrace and foster an environment that supports our core values of Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Teamwork and Accountability.Within 3 months, you'll:Complete any required trainingHave developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.Atkore is a six-time Great Place to Work© certified company and a four-time Top Workplaces USA award winner! As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $18.50/hr. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
