Job description

Machine OperatorAs a Machine Operator, you will play a critical role in the pre-production department, preparing parts for the assembly area. You will operate various machines, including coating, polishing, poly lining, and Teflon lining machines. Your task will involve transforming raw metal materials to the specified dimensions, preparing them for welders, applying coatings, and ensuring the lining is correctly applied. This position demands attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent documentation skills for team meetings.ResponsibilitiesOperate machines and equipment in accordance with production standards.Perform visual inspections and functional testing to ensure quality.Read and follow work instructions, drawings, and production schedules.Troubleshoot and resolve basic to intermediate machine or process issues.Maintain accurate records of production and quality results using SAP and other systems.Promote safety and follow TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) processes.Support continuous improvement by identifying and reporting quality or process issues.Essential SkillsAbility to stand for the entirety of the shift.High attention to detail with focus on quality and producing quality parts.Steel Toed or Composite Shoes.Manufacturing experience running or monitoring a machine.Experience using hand & power tools.Ability to read, write, and understand English.Basic Math Skills (addition, subtraction, units of measurement).Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to read blueprints preferred.Quality control or quality inspection experience.Machine Operation experience required for Tier 2 or above.Why Work Here?Join a family-owned, globally committed company with a sustainable vision for the future. The work environment is temperature-controlled, requiring steel toes, safety glasses, and gloves. The facility focuses on quality and safety first, fostering a laid-back culture that emphasizes process improvement and collaboration. You will train on the 1st shift for six weeks or longer, and occasionally, overtime may be mandated, usually announced in advance.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenwood, IN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $26.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
