Job description
Machine OperatorThe Machine Operator is responsible for operating a set of raschel knitting machines. Essential job duties include patrolling machines to ensure excellent quality, repairing yarn breaks, maintaining a clean work area, and observing all safety rules and procedures. The role also requires documenting production, quality, and safety, and taking sample cuts as required.Minimum qualifications include legally authorized work status in the US, effective communication skills, and the ability to operate motorized equipment. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, manufacturing experience, and textile knitting experience.Skill requirements include excellent hand/eye coordination, strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, attention to detail, the ability to identify and classify defects, willingness to work overtime, and effective communication.Physical requirements involve standing 95% of the day, sitting 5% of the day, moving throughout the plant 50% of the day, lifting up to 25 lbs. 10% of the day, ascending/descending stairs 35% of the day, pushing/pulling/reaching 35% of the day, bending 15% of the day, and visual acuity for reading information from printed sources and computer screens 100% of the day.This job operates in a manufacturing facility, which is a safety-sensitive position. The work environment includes regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles, loud noise levels, high temperatures, and high humidity levels.Shift schedule will depend on open positions at the time of hire and will be communicated with new hire paperwork. Weekends and holidays are scheduled depending on business demands.
