Machine Operator – Pre-AssemblyWe are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Machine Operator – Pre-Assembly to support the preparation and assembly of components used in the manufacturing process. In this role, you will be responsible for operating pre-assembly equipment, preparing parts and subassemblies, and ensuring materials meet quality and production requirements before final assembly. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production flow, product quality, and operational efficiency.Responsibilities:• Machine Operation: Operate pre-assembly machinery and equipment to prepare components and subassemblies according to work instructions and production specifications.• Material Preparation: Gather, stage, and prepare parts, hardware, and materials required for pre-assembly operations to support production schedules.• Assembly Support: Perform basic mechanical pre-assembly tasks such as fastening, fitting, or aligning components to create subassemblies for downstream production.• Quality Verification: Inspect components and subassemblies for accuracy, proper fit, and quality standards; identify and report defects or inconsistencies.• Documentation & Reporting: Record production output, quality checks, and equipment performance using production logs or digital systems as required.• Equipment Monitoring: Monitor machine performance during operation and notify maintenance or supervision of any malfunctions, abnormalities, or safety concerns.• Safety & Compliance: Follow all company safety procedures, operating guidelines, and PPE requirements while maintaining a safe work environment.• Housekeeping & Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring tools, materials, and equipment are properly stored and accessible.Qualifications:• High School Diploma or GED• Previous manufacturing, assembly, or machine operation experience preferred• Ability to read and follow work instructions, basic drawings, or production documentation• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety• Basic computer skills for production tracking or documentationPhysical Requirements:The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds continuously throughout the workday.Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, push and pull.Perform grasping, handling, and repetitive hand and arm movements.Maintain manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools, equipment, machinery controls, and computer devices as required.Safely operate hand tools, light power tools, and rotating equipment as required by the position.Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the position.Ability to climb and descend ladders, stairs, platforms, and work areas safely as required by the positionWork Environment:The employee will work in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to:The need to work safely around manufacturing processes and equipment while following all applicable safety policies and procedureVarying temperatures, including temperatures occasionally above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.Moderate to high levels of noise in designated production areas.Outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, rain, and other environmental elements, as business needs require.Welding operations, including exposure to welding arcs, sparks, heat, and airborne particulates in designated production areas.Time Travel Required:No travel required.The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv's Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.Our Core Principals: Safety.
