Job description
Machine Operator IThe Machine Operator I is responsible for performing the essential manufacturing steps of part trimming and drilling, meeting daily production needs in manufacturing quality parts.This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.Essential duties and key responsibilities include:Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.Trim plated parts to print specifications utilizing manual and programmable Lathes.Core drill parts using equipment including manual drill presses, lathes and programmable HAAS Drilling machinesProgram HAAS machines for drilling operations.Performs preventative maintenance including fluid changes, lubrication and cleaning of machines when needed/directed by the Lead / SupervisorAccurately record production information on paper travellers and in the ERP systemMaintains a clean machine and organized work area.Makes minor repairs and notifies maintenance for other maintenance needs.Performs variety of tasks such as counting, cleaning, returning gauges and fixtures, transferring of partsUse measuring equipment to maintain close tolerancesFollows schedules and proceduresAdaptable to cell and team concepts as well as cross-trainingSees that all safety guards are in place and in good conditionAssists other operators if necessaryInspects work in progress using equipment necessary and outlined in Quality or work instructions. Responsible for quality of own work; required to notify Supervisor or Lead if quality requirement is unclear or questionableAll other duties as assignedSkills and competencies include:Must be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specification sheets, and/or mechanical drawings and in precision measurement or become proficient through training.Computer literacyCapable of using measuring instruments, i.e. micrometer, calipers, comparator, height gauge, etc.Capable of using hand tools (i.e. screwdriver, wrenches etc.)Ability to read and write, perform basic arithmetic and follow verbal and written instructions.Education and experience:High School Diploma or EquivalentBenefits include:MedicalDentalVisionShort Term DisabilityLong Term DisabilityPTOPaid HolidaysPaid Sick Days401K / 401K Company MatchLife InsurancePaid Jury DutyEmployee Referral ProgramTuition Reimbursement Program based onEmployee Assistance ProgramSalary range: $18.00 - $21.00/Hour based on experience and ability to perform work independently. 2nd shift will receive a 10% shift premium.Training: 2nd shift will train on 1st shift (7:00 am - 3:30 pm) 30-60 days before moving to 2nd shift.Physical demands include standing, hearing, walking, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and manipulating objects. The employee must frequently lift/move and/or push/pull up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift/move and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs.
