This position produces high quality linear energetic product in accordance with specific engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions. Machine Operator II is responsible for safety, quality and delivery of products for our Aerospace and Defense markets. This role will report to the Production Supervisor of Linear & Transfer Systems in our Simsbury, CT location on flex shift.Responsibilities:Responsible for set up, configuration, and operation of roll forming mill to form linear energetic products in accordance with documented specificationsOperate wire sheath extrusion machinesOperate machines that load and reduce linear energetic product in accordance with specificationsPerform fabrication of linear energetic product as defined in Manufacturing Instructions using machinery and toolingClean, measure, cut, sample, spool, coil and pack productMaintain quality and accuracy requirementsPerform all safety and quality checks on the equipmentWork with engineering team to develop new manufacturing procedures for linear energetic productsContribute towards continuous improvement initiativesMaintain a safe and orderly work environmentRequirements:Excels in a dynamic, changeable work environmentEnergetic and positive attitudeAbility to work independentlyCertificate or greater in machining related field, or prior machine setup and/or metal working machine experience (1 year), or roll forming operator experience (1 year)High School diploma or equivalentAbility to read, understand, and follow written instructions in EnglishMust be able to pass company administered competency testDemonstrate capability to use basic measuring tools (Calipers, micrometer, etc.)Demonstrate capability to read and understand engineering drawings (preferred)Experience using Optical Comparators/Shadowgraphs (preferred)Background using 5S/lean manufacturing principles (preferred)The physical activities of this position include work lifting up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis, walking, standing, sitting, reaching, kneeling, talking and hearing.
