Production Machine OperatorEdsal Manufacturing is North America's leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of high-quality steel shelving and cabinets for garage, basement, storage, and commercial applications. Edsal was founded and operated as a family-owned business on Chicago's South Side for over 60 years before being acquired by Monomoy Capital Partners in 2018. We continue to have operating sites throughout the United States in Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and California.Summary: Responsible for setting up and operating a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Configuring the equipment, loading and operating machine optimizing the machine capability.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Press dual control buttons and move control to start, stop or adjust machinery and equipment.Handling and moving objects using hands and arms in handling, installing, position and moving materials.Utilize control mechanisms and direct physical activity to operate machines.Inspect equipment, structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defectsOperate conveyors or other industrial material moving equipmentQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or combination of education and experience.OTJ, previous experience in a factory/plant/warehouse a plusKnowledge, Skills/Abilities:Ability to complete repetitive tasksAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to have control precisionHas great reaction timeAttention to detailLanguage Skills: Ability to communicate and understand both written and verbal instructionMathematical Skills:Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, divisionUnderstand basic measurement unitsOther Skills and Abilities: Ability to multi-task. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to work under dynamic schedule constraints and consistently meet deliverable timelines.
