Job description
Machine OperatorThe Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating, monitoring, and maintaining production equipment to meet output, quality, and safety standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical awareness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesMachine OperationSet up, operate, and adjust production equipment (filling, blending, packaging, or assembly machines)Monitor machine performance and make real-time adjustments to maintain efficiencyPerform changeovers based on product specificationsEnsure proper material loading and product flowProduction & OutputMeet or exceed daily production targetsMinimize downtime by identifying and addressing minor issues quicklyAccurately complete production counts and documentationQuality ControlInspect product to ensure it meets quality standardsIdentify defects and escalate issues immediatelyFollow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and sanitation proceduresSafety & ComplianceFollow all safety procedures and wear required PPEMaintain a clean and organized work area (5S standards)Report safety hazards, near misses, and incidentsMaintenance SupportPerform basic preventative maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, inspections)Assist maintenance team with troubleshooting when neededIdentify early signs of equipment failureQualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or GED1+ year of manufacturing or machine operation experienceAbility to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbsBasic mechanical aptitudePreferredExperience with packaging equipment (HFFS, fillers, cappers, conveyors)Familiarity with GMP or regulated manufacturing environmentsForklift certification (or willingness to obtain)Key Skills & TraitsStrong work ethic and reliability (attendance is critical)Hands-on problem solverAbility to work independently and as part of a teamSense of urgency and accountabilityWillingness to learn and growWork EnvironmentManufacturing floor (noise, moving equipment, chemicals depending on area)Exposure to dust, powder and liquid cleaning chemicals.Exposure to ambient temperature (Hot in summer, cold in winter).Shift Mon-Thurs 6:00AM-4:30PM, overtime as needed.Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.Nesco Resource provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
