Machine OperatorWe are building our team up for busy season! Olympia Chimney & Venting is looking for an experienced Machine Operator who takes pride in producing high-quality products and getting the job done right. In this hands-on role, you'll operate and maintain industrial machinery, troubleshoot minor mechanical issues, perform quality checks, create custom parts, and help support newer operators—all while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, accuracy, and teamwork matter.The Olympia Chimney & Venting Machine Operator 2 produces various high-quality metal chimney venting components by safely operating and maintaining a variety of machines, correcting issues, closing orders in the Acumatica system, and may assist with training of new machine operators.Essential FunctionsMay operate and maintain a variety of light and heavy industrial machinesArrange machine at the beginning of work procedures to ensure that everything is in orderTest the machine before main work begins to be sure that it's in good condition for productionSet all machine operation information such as speed, size and shape into machine before it begins runningAdjust the operating speed and controlling the load of the machinesInsert all production materials in the various parts of the machine where they are supposed to be to enhance production outputStrictly adhere to client job specification and ensure high-quality workArrange and set up the material handling equipment and machinery if neededMonitor the machine operation to see that the finished products and components aptly match the quality and quantity constraints of the companyIdentify and correct small mechanical issues.Identify defects in materials.Perform quality checks in cells other than home cellUnderstanding and ability to make custom partsAbility to train and monitor the quality of new employees in home cellPerform daily housekeeping of work area.Examine and discard defective goods and packaging componentsEnsure timely preparation and availability of all production materials to avoid shortage during productionRecalibrate and clean the machinery after completing production activitiesOther duties as assigned as production needs requireCompetenciesHumility: Having or showing a modest or low estimate of one's own importance; putting the needs of another person before your own and thinking of others before yourselfResults Orientation (Get It Done): Having a work ethic and a way of overcoming challenges and getting things done without making excuses; delivering on results and does what he/she says they will doCustomer Focus: Meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers to achieve positive outcomesAttention to Detail: Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved.Communication: Listening effectively, transmitting information accurately and understandably, and actively seeking feedback non-defensivelyDependability/Reliability: Following through on commitments, producing timely work to required – or higher - standards, and pitching in to get the job done.Quality Orientation: Accomplishing tasks by considering all areas involved, no matter how small; showing concern for all aspects of the job; accurately checking processes and tasks; being watchful over a period of time.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Temperature is varied to the temperature outside due to open doors and garages.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items 50 pounds unassisted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position, Monday – Friday.
