Machine OperatorJoin our dynamic team as a Machine Operator, where you'll play a key role in the production of high-quality air conditioning units. If you enjoy working on your feet, operating machinery, and being part of a hands-on team in a fast-paced, open-air environment, this is the role for you! You'll be trained to run a variety of metal fabricating machines, ensuring precision and safety while contributing to a high-performing production floor.What We Offer:Competitive salaryPaid vacation/holidays/sick timeComprehensive benefits package including 401K, medical, dental, and vision careOn the job/cross training opportunitiesEncouraging and collaborative team environmentDedication to safety through our Zero Harm policyKey Responsibilities:Set up and operate various metal fabrication machines (e.g., Brake Press, Turret, Fin Press) to cut, shape, and form metal parts per blueprints and specifications.Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to ensure proper machine setup and adherence to quality standards.Prioritize safety for yourself and your teammates. Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage and JSA guidelines.Inspect materials and finished products for quality, reporting any defects or issues to supervisors.Work seamlessly with cross-functional teams, communicating effectively to meet production goals and ensure smooth operations.Identify areas for improvement, troubleshoot issues, and optimize production processes to enhance efficiency.Be available for overtime or shift changes as needed to support production demands.Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment to keep operations running smoothly.What We're Looking For:High school diploma or GED.Minimum 6 months of machine operation or similar manufacturing experience.Attention to detail and ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents.Ability to stand or walk for long periods on hard surfaces.Comfortable working in physically demanding, noisy, dusty, fast-paced environment, and non-climate-controlled environment.Ability to frequently lift 30-40 lbs and occasionally lift 50 lbs.Ability to perform repetitive motions, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in confined spaces.Basic computer skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.2 or more years of machine operation or similar manufacturing experience.Experience operating heavy machinery such as Brake Press, Turret, or Fin PressExperience programming and operating CNC machines.Build your best future with the Johnson Controls teamJohnson Controls' Wichita operation designs, builds and distributes around one million pieces of residential heating and cooling equipment every year.
