Machine OperatorBuild It Right. Keep Production Moving.If you know your way around industrial machinery and take pride in producing quality work, this is an opportunity to put those skills to work. As a Machine Operator, you'll set up and operate equipment, monitor quality, troubleshoot issues, and help keep production running safely and efficiently.Whether you're building your experience as a Machine Operator 1 or bringing advanced metal-processing and CNC skills as a Machine Operator 3, you'll have the opportunity to grow your skills and take on greater responsibility.What You'll DoSet up and operate machinery according to production specifications.Operate lift trucks and overhead cranes.Monitor equipment and make adjustments to maintain quality, speed, and efficiency.Inspect finished products and ensure they meet quality standards.Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, maintenance, and minor repairs as appropriate to your level.Troubleshoot production and equipment issues.Read process sheets, cut lists, measurements, and other production documentation.Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.Work with your team to meet production goals and deadlines.Follow all safety and shop procedures and help maintain a safe working environment.What You BringMachine Operator 11+ year of industry experienceStrong mechanical aptitudeAbility to read process sheets, cut lists, and tolerancesIntermediate math skillsAbility to read a tape measureStrong problem-solving skillsMachine Operator 2 — All of the above, plus:5+ years of metal-processing experienceAbility to perform minor equipment maintenanceIntermediate math, including some geometry and trigonometryAbility to read and interpret technical documents and blueprintsKnowledge of machine settings, adjustments, and maintenance proceduresAbility to mentor Machine Operator 1 employeesCross-training on most machinesUnderstanding of Lean and Continuous Improvement practicesMachine Operator 3 — All of the above, plus:7+ years of metal-processing experienceAbility to certify in multiple positions and processesAdvanced blueprint reading, including ISO, European standards, and raw contract drawingsAbility to create hand drafts and sketchesAbility to lead small teams to meet project goals and timelinesAbility to train employees on machineryCross-training on all machinesUnderstanding of intermediate Lean manufacturing and advanced Continuous Improvement initiativesAbility to program and set up CNC equipmentWhat the Work RequiresThis is a hands-on industrial role. You'll regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, crouch, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive or physically demanding tasks.
