Machine Operator - TenonCentury Casegoods Plant 1 - Hickory, NC 28601OverviewPosition Type Full Time Job Shift DayDescriptionThis position is required to set up, operate and feed Tenon Machine and machine furniture parts.Essential DutiesMust be able to identify wood species such as maple, ash, mahogany and walnutRequired to setup, feed and operate the Tenon machineTrims, notches, rabs, grooves or otherwise cuts furniture parts on the Tenon machineMakes basic visual inspection of parts and discards those with obvious defectsChecks first piece run and spot checks whenever operating machine to validate specificationsCounts parts and records quantities on work sheetSets up and makes adjustments required during runPushes finished product to next operationRequired to use a tape measure to verify measurements on the woodMust follow all safety policies and proceduresAll other duties assignedQualificationsPosition RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED preferredExperience running a Tenon machine in the manufacture of wood productsPhysical RequirementsMust be able to stand for extended periods of time, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling and twisting throughout the dayFrequent repetitive motions requiring grasping, pushing, and pullingOccasional reaching at, above, or below shoulder levelMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently; rarely up to 75 lbs.
