Job description
Machine OperatorSpinrite is the largest craft yarn and sewing thread company in North America. As an industry leader focused on driving growth and execution excellence, we are looking for a Machine Operator to join our growing Manufacturing team.Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this individual will be responsible for operating and setting up production equipment, monitoring performance to ensure efficiency and quality, and making basic adjustments or troubleshooting minor issues. The role includes inspecting finished products, maintaining accurate production records, following safety procedures and schedules, keeping the work area clean, and adhering to directions from supervisors and team leads.Duties and Responsibilities:Operate machinery according to production standards, work instructions, and safety proceduresSet up and adjust equipment for production runs (e.g., loading materials, setting speeds, calibrating controls)Monitor machine performance to ensure efficient operation and minimize downtimeInspect products during and after production to ensure quality standards are metTroubleshoot minor issues and make basic adjustments to keep machines runningReport equipment malfunctions or production issues to the supervisor or maintenance teamMaintain production records, including output, scrap, downtime, and quality checksFollow production schedules and meet daily output targetsEnsure compliance with safety policies and wear required PPE at all timesMaintain a clean work area and support housekeeping standards (5S)Handle materials, including loading raw materials and moving finished goodsFollow supervisor and team lead instructions and remain in assigned work areasMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentBasic math and reading skills to follow work instructions and record dataAbility to operate or learn to operate production machineryStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality standardsAbility to follow safety procedures and wear required PPEGood communication skills and ability to follow supervisor directionsAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentPhysical ability to stand, walk, lift (typically up to 25–50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasksFlexibility to work overtime, and weekends as needed
